A voice for the woods. A voice for local wildlife.
Friends of Kilminorth Woods constituted in 2006 as a result of the 'Wildspace!' project. This was a joint initiative with the then owners, Caradon District Council (now Cornwall Council), English Nature (now Natural England) and Groundwork UK.
The Friends objectives are:
- To promote, for the benefit of the public, the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of Kilminorth Woods Local Nature Reserve
- To advance the education of the public in relation to the natural environment and its conservation and
- To advance the use of Kilminorth Woods Local Nature Reserve for educational and recreational purposes appropriate to a Local Nature Reserve.
To do this the group runs a year round programme of events including wildlife monitoring, guided walks, practical conservation, trips and talks. The variety of activities means there is something for everyone!
We have members with expertise in many relevant areas but welcome anyone interested in the natural world and helping to look after the Woods. Join us!
Friends of Kilminorth Woods has been featured on BBC programmes including Nature of Britain and Inside Out South West.
